How does microneedling work?

Microneedling uses microscopic needles to deliver controlled damage to the surface of the skin, stimulating the body’s repair and rejuvenation processes to significantly increase the production of collagen and elastin – essential elements that keep skin supple and firm. Microneedling revitalises the skin from within.

What is involved in microneedling treatment?

We apply a topical numbing cream prior to treatment, and then cleanse your skin with an antimicrobial solution. We microneedle the prepared skin, giving extra attention to the concerns you want to treat.

Does microneedling hurt?

Microneedling is minimally invasive, and we ensure that discomfort is minimised by applying a topical anaesthetic to the skin before starting treatment. The needles are extremely fine and oscillate at such a high speed that the sensation is barely detectable.

What is recovery like?

Many clients take 24 hours’ post-treatment downtime, as microneedling creates temporary redness in the treated areas of skin, which can take anywhere from several hours to 2 days to fade. We recommend that clients with highly sensitive skin book an appointment prior to the weekend to gain extra recovery time at home.
